Best Beaches in Wales

Your Guide to Finding the Best Beaches & Coastal Escapes in Wales

From charming marinas, idyllic golden-sand coasts, through to bustling seaside towns, Wales is renowned for its expansive stretch of beaches. With so much choice, we’re narrowing down the list and taking a look through some of the best beaches in Wales as listed by the National Trust.

Porthor, sitting just over an hours’ drive Castle View Holiday Home Park comes in as an all-time favourite beach in Wales. This coast offers everything from unadulterated beauty, to water sports such as bodyboarding and surfing, and even benefits from luscious, green countryside views. Porthor, also known as ‘Whistling Sands’, comes from the unique whistle-like sound that the particular shape of the sand particles creates when walked on.

Just 12 miles north of Porthor, the picturesque beauty Porthdinllaen, is easily accessible from Llandanwg Caravan Park. As well as being a postcard-perfect scene, Porthdinllaen is a wildlife haven too, perfect for bird watching and a popular spot for grey seals, it’s no wonder it is listed as one of Wales’ best beaches.

A National Trust Beach, Mwnt, is a golden cove nestled along the Ceredigion coast. This sheltered gem is less than 2hours drive from our Green Meadow Caravan Holiday Home Park, and is one of the best places for Dolphin spotting on the Mid Wales coast. Although a popular spot in the summer due to its raw beauty, the cove still remains an unspoilt treasure. You can walk the Wales’ coastal path or drive down the country from Cardigan town to get the Mwnt beach, but whichever route you choose you’ll be able to enjoy breath-taking views.

Llandanwg Holiday Home Caravan Park also benefits from being within reach of two more of Wales’ best beaches – Porth Ceiriad and Llanbedrog beach. Connected to Pwllehli by a historic tramway, LLanbedrog is a large family friendly beach perfect for created seaside memories. Similarly, Porth Caeiriad is popular for every type of beach day out, welcoming suffers, sunbathers and adrenaline junkies alike.

Whatever the type of beach day out you’re looking for, there is no denying that the Welsh coastlines offers something magical for everyone.  Get exploring – learn more about our 5-star caravan parks in Wales.
