Woodland Walks

In the southeast region of Aberystwyth, you can find the Coed Maen Arthur woodland. Once home to a busy lead-mining industry, the Coed Maen Arthur area contains a trail that can take you through some incredible scenery. Lasting around 2 hours, the Maen Arthur trail begins near the village of Pont-rhyd-y-groes and passes over a spectacular wooden bridge that sits high above a deep river gorge. This is followed through to Castell Grogwynion, which is one of the largest hill forts in Wales, there is also an impressive waterfall to view on this walk. The Coed Maen Arthur woodland is truly one to tick off your list, as the trees become ablaze with the autumnal colours of yellow and red.
