In the southeast region of Aberystwyth, you can find the Coed Maen Arthur woodland. Once home to a busy lead-mining industry, the Coed Maen Arthur area contains a trail that can take you through some incredible scenery. Lasting around 2 hours, the Maen Arthur trail begins near the village of Pont-rhyd-y-groes and passes over a spectacular wooden bridge that sits high above a deep river gorge. This is followed through to Castell Grogwynion, which is one of the largest hill forts in Wales, there is also an impressive waterfall to view on this walk. The Coed Maen Arthur woodland is truly one to tick off your list, as the trees become ablaze with the autumnal colours of yellow and red.
There’s nothing more Autumnal than visiting a pumpkin patch, and Pembrokeshire Pumpkins doesn’t disappoint. In the run up to Halloween this October, why not take your family on a day out to pick your own pumpkins? Pembrokeshire Pumpkins, located on the southeast Welsh coast, not only has a wide variety of pumpkins to choose from, but there is also a woodland play area, perfect for a family day out! From hay-bales and a pumpkin barn to vintage swing boats and a firepit, Pembrokeshire Pumpkins is a great day out this autumn.
