Spring show to explore caravan, lodge and motorhome ownership

April 2022

The customer journey to holiday home, luxury lodge, touring caravan or motorhome ownership will be explored at a major spring show in Shropshire later this month.

The West Midlands Caravan & Motorhome Experiential Show 2022 will be hosted by Salop Leisure at the company’s Emstrey headquarters alongside Shrewsbury bypass from Friday, April 29 to Monday, May 2. The UK’s largest free caravan and motorhome show follows one of the busiest years on record for the UK leisure industry, with staycationing booming due to the global pandemic.

Capitalising on this boom, the show will give visitors a chance to browse the largest selection of caravans and motorhomes in the West Midlands. The popular spring show aims to be a one-stop-shop for customers seeking to buy a caravan holiday home, luxury lodge, touring caravan or motorhome. More than 35 of the latest 2022 caravan holiday homes and lodge models will be displayed, with each having a sales board detailing information about the parks that have pre-ordered them.

“Our aim is to match as many potential customers as possible with holiday homes already sold to parks,” explained Ed Glover, Salop Leisure’s marketing manager. “Park operators will have trade stands exhibiting for the duration of the show, both outside in individual marquees as well as some in dedicated internal space.”

A touring caravan and motorhome showcase will promote new Swift models for 2022, with attractive part exchange packages offered to existing owners. An accessory shop, which will have a range of offers on awnings during the show, will feature various exhibits by suppliers including cooking demonstrations by Cadac, a motor mover obstacle course by Power-touch and a competition to find the fastest person to blow up an inflatable awning. Other attractions include inflatable slides and an ice cream van.

Customers who download a free show ticket in advance will receive a voucher for a complimentary hot drink in Salop Leisure’s Love Coffee restaurant.

“This year’s show will focus on customers who are exploring routes to ownership but haven’t yet chosen whether to buy a holiday home, luxury lodge, touring caravan or motorhome,” added Mr Glover.

“Previous shows have attracted more than 15,000 visitors and we anticipate a similar attendance this year due to the continuing staycation boom. We attract a mixture of existing owners, first time buyers and local families who come to explore the exciting lifestyle afforded by caravan and motorhome ownership in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, with expert advice and exclusive show discounts available. The show is also a great way to promote the Heart of England and the inland and coastal areas of Mid Wales as holiday destinations.”

Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore Love2Stay, Salop Leisure’s luxury glamping and touring resort and adventure centre and the company’s specialist plants centre, Love Plants which has a wide selection of plants and advice to offer for spring and summer gardens.
