Fun for Foodies
Autumn is food festival season in Wales! And with winter warming food – mince pies, a variety of cheeses and hot drinks, who wouldn’t love wrapping up warm and paying a visit to a local market or bigger food festival? Why not try Llangollen Food Festival – in addition to stalls of delicious food, you’ll find cookery demonstrations and a whole host of events and competitions like pumpkin carving.
You don’t have to stay outside in the chilly air when it comes to enjoying delicious food this Autumn though, traditional afternoon tea is another Autumn favourite in Wales! An indulgent experience that any foodie will love, why not find an afternoon tea spot in North Wales where you can enjoy the stunning Autumnal scenery from the warm inside?
Penmaenuchaf Hall Hotel, just a short drive from Min-y-don Holiday Park, is a stunning country house hotel, ideal for enjoying afternoon tea whist looking out at their beautiful grounds.
Spooky Strolls
Love a ghost story? Those that like to visit and holiday in Wales will know that there are ample ghostly rambles and tours to experience in the country. With plethora of medieval buildings, including plenty of castles and enchanting forests, Wales is perfect for a spooky evening out – especially in the Autumn months as the nights draw in. Plas Mawr, north of Snowdonia National Park is within an hours drive of all 9 Salop Caravan Parks, and is home to the perfect spooky grounds to explore!
Stargazing
But the nights drawing in doesn’t mean you have to get spooked – what it does mean is that the perfect conditions for stargazing are in full swing. As a largely rural country, Wales has lots of areas with minimal light pollution. When you holiday in Wales during the Autumn/Winter months you can spot the stars from as early as 4pm! Head over to beautiful Anglesey and you’ll also be able to gaze up at the Milky Way.
There are plenty of things to do in North Wales during Autumn, some even say the countryside is more beautiful during these chillier months. Take a look at our available holiday homes and starting planning your future Autumn family fun.
