Generosity of owners leads to installation of defibrillator at Morben Isaf Holiday Park

The generosity of holiday home owners has led to the installation of a potentially life-saving defibrillator here at Morben Isaf Holiday Park.

Ben and Sarah Lewis, the park managers, were delighted to welcome Tomos Hughes, a first responder with the Welsh Ambulance Service, to Morben Isaf.

He installed the defibrillator and has since led training sessions to offer guidance over how it should be used.

The device gives a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest.

Sarah said: “The money raised for the defibrillator was down entirely to donations from owners on the park.

“They were extremely generous and we are delighted that the defibrillator has now been installed.

“It’s a very important addition to the park and it will also benefit the local community.”

Morben Isaf is one of nine caravan holiday home parks owned by Salop Leisure raising money to each buy a defibrillator this year.

Tony Bywater, the chairman of Salop Leisure, said the health and wellbeing of customers whilst holidaying was paramount.

“We want to do everything we can to look after the wellbeing of our customers whilst they are on holiday with us,” he added. “Customer research has told us that they like the comfort of having a defibrillator available on the park and that is our target for 2019.

“Each park will be fundraising to provide a defibrillator with the company’s support.”
