The Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) near Machynlleth continues its summer programme of events by hosting a nature-based wellbeing themed day for families on August Bank Holiday Monday.
The day will comprise a variety of fun and engaging ways for the whole family to reconnect with nature. Join a kids’ yoga session and learn how to move like the animals of the forest, close your eyes and be guided into a nature-focused meditation or create a beautiful mandala using natural materials.
John Challen, head of CAT’s Eco Centre, said: “Connecting with nature is the first step on a personal journey towards a sustainable lifestyle and learning to understand and appreciate the natural world can happen through all sorts of activities and begin at any age.
“The ‘Wild Wellbeing’ day is a great way to begin for not only are the activities calming and enjoyable for the families, they also teach something so essential at the same time.’’
While enjoying the free activities, why not make a day of it and explore the centre?
CAT is a great place for children, with plenty to see and do. Run off extra energy in the eco-adventure playground, discover a world of green living on family friendly trails and scavenger hunts or explore the interactive displays on growing, energy, building and more.
For ticket prices, event times and for more information on CAT’s summer events programme, visit www.cat.org.uk/summer2019. Activities are free with the entry ticket.
